Hark Valley

My Journey with You & Songs of Praises

In our darkest times, when we are facing difficult trials and impossible hardships, poetry can uplift, encourage and strengthen us in Christ.

Hark Valley presents a poetic depiction of author Sophia Campbell’s spiritual journey during one of her greatest health challenges. Inspired by conversations with God and deep meditations, she searches for answers, guidance, and strength. In the midst of our pain, Christ, through his brokenness and death, won the great battle; therefore we are able to rejoice amid our troubles. Our journey is tiny in comparison to the great victory won for us.

Then I see you again, on the cross this time,
bloodied, with a sorrowful crown on your head,
a sword pierced in your side.

It is then that I’m reminded of your victory for me.
A surge of hope and victory rushes through my veins.
They captivate me; I am drenched with your love.
I rejoice; laughter gushes fourth like mighty waves on my lips.
Oh yes, sweet victory you won already on the cross.
—from “My Visit with You”

Hark Valley is a ministry to those who are experiencing challenges in various forms and needing to be reminded that “with man this is impossible but with God all things are possible Mathew 19 vs. 26”.  It is my hope that friends will be inspired to be used and led by God.  Surely my experiences with writing Hark Valley served as a stark reminder between this verse and my personal experiences.  “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace, the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands”.  Isiah 55, vs. 12.
